A House Built Upon Rock

Our Divine Lord told us that if we listen to His worlds, and act upon them, we will be like a wise man who built his house upon rock. The rain fell, the floods came and the winds blew and buffeted the house. But it did not fall because it was built upon rock (Mt. 7:24-26). He told us that a house built upon sand, on the other hand, would collapse.
In today's world with people looking for an easy way, and easy religion and a wishy-washy value system, it is important to listen to authentic teaching. Such teaching is found in the Catholic Church and echoes Christ's voice calling to us through the centuries. It echoes Mary's advice at Cana, "Do whatever He tells you."
Pope John Paul II, the vicar of Christ on earth, the successor to St. Peter, stands guard over the Deposit of Faith, over Scripture and Tradition, scrupulously making sure that what Christ taught us is contained in the new Universal Catechism of the Catholic Church. He wants us to know that the world is at odds with Christ's teaching; that the Catholic doctrine is a variance with the pagan culture being taught in our schools, on TV shows and in the movies. He reminds us that we can never take the Ten Commandments and subject them to a poll to see if people agree with them. The Catholic Church is not a business or club whereby the people make up the rules. The rules are there given by God; you must take them or leave them. You must follow Catholic teaching or you cannot call yourself a good Catholic. There is no free choice in the Church. Abortion has always been murder; sex outside of marriage has always been a mortal sin. The Pope did not recently make up that rule.
It is time for loyal Catholics to rise up and defend our faith and our Pope. build your house on faith, on solid teaching. Learn your faith from authentic sources. Guild your faith on solid rock and the wind, rain and floods of paganism and Modernism will never disturb your peace and happiness.
